Neste livro, Pushkin nos leva a um momento historico da Russia do seculo XVIII (a revolta de Pugatchov contra a imperatriz Catarina II, a grande) através do relato do protagonista, o tenente Piotr Andreitch Griniov. O livro nos consegue, com sucesso, mostrar como eram as relações familiares e sociais naquele tempo. Podemos ver uma sociedade altamente hierarquizada, além da dificuldade de convivência entre os povos que habitavam o imenso território russo. Gostei que o amor entre Piotr e Macha não foi o grande protagonista do livro. Serviu sim como um ótimo pano de fundo e tornou a historia muito boa por causa disso. Foi o combustível que motivou Piotr ao longo da sua saga. Os diálogos entre Piotr e Pugatchov também são particularmente fascinantes. Vale a pena a leitura. Mais uma grande obra da literatura russa.

In this book, using the account from the protagonist Piotr Andreitch Griniov, Alexander Pushkin takes us straight to Pugatchov’s revolt against Empress Catherine II, the great during the late 18th century. In addition to the revolt itself, the book show us a clear portrait of how family and social relationships were at that time. We can see a highly hierarchical society and several different people struggling to coexist in the immense Russian territory. I liked that the love story between Piotr and Macha was not the main focus of the book. It served as a great backdrop and made the story very good because of it. Their love was the fuel that motivated Piotr throughout his saga. The dialogues between Piotr and Pugatchov are also particularly fascinating. It is worth reading. Another Russian literature masterpiece.
